Eraserhead

Recording and Live Project 2015

Band Bio

Eraserhead is the result of a tight gospel rhythm section at Salem Baptist Church joining forces with top graduate Jazz ensemble players from Texas A&M University. As fate would have it, all of the current members shared a stage one night at a blues festival in Bryan, TX for an improvisational jam that evolved into a Funk/Jazz fusion explosion. That day, Eraserhead was born.

The six piece band combines influences of Jazz, Funk, Gospel, and Southern Rock to create new music and reinvent standards as exploratory instrumentals. Often compared to 70s era Herbie Hancock, the band is typically instrumental, but does occasionally invite guest singers and entire guest gospel choirs to share the stage. Eraserhead has also been been in discussions to perform as the backing band for Joe Tex Jr. in several 2016 blues festivals.

In October, 2015, Eraserhead released a live album, “Eraserhead: Live at the Palace” and is currently recording its first studio album to be released in February, 2016 by Sinkhole Records, Inc.
